And like that, poof, Fall Fashion Week is done. Now that the madness is over, we can sit back, relax, and take it all in. The end of Paris saw the collections of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Chloé, Miu Miu, Valentino, and more.

Michael Kors, Peter Som, Charlotte Ronson, and Richard Chai all featured the Fall trend of the moment: the long maxi skirt. From casual to couture, the maxi skirt’s longer hemlines are much more forgiving than the shorter miniskirts of the past. Check out FabTV to see how to wear the must-have maxi skirt!Like what you see?

Let me preface this by reminding you not to shoot the messenger. Alas, in case you haven't already noticed, New York's Fall runways were flurried with fur. Dip-dyed, hooded, hatted, vested, trimmed, bagged, and even shoed (left, at Zac Posen) New York designers continue to have a penchant for fur.

For Fall '10, designers — such as Adam Lippes, Peter Som, Michael Kors, and Tommy Hilfiger — swapped out shorter hemlines for longer luxurious lengths. Maxed-out skirts are a sophisticated and refreshing alternative to the tights and minis combo and can be worn both casually or ultra-glamorous. Peep how Adam Lippes and Peter Som experimented with floaty, printed chiffon layers, while Michael Kors and Tibi decorated their long skirts with beads and shimmer.

Fall is always about bundling up, but Fall 2010 ditched ladylike and attacked extreme coziness — cocoon cozy, to be exact. Phillip Lim kept his sweaters cropped with extra long sleeves, Rad Hourani took his collars up, way up, and the Rodarte sisters opted for light colors and major fuzz. Other knits were oversized, and included rounded hems and large hoodies.

We chatted up Ports 1961's Tia Cibani to hear her take on the Fall 2010 collection. Expect to see clean silhouettes, cool jewel tones, and overall rich, dark, harmonious shades. Come Fall, Ports 1961 will rely on textured fabrics for emphasis and lean towards a more subdued color trend.

Diane von Furstenberg takes a moment to talk about textures and trends on the Fall 2010 catwalk. The new collection is inspired by the current runway trend of menswear tailoring but is counterbalanced by super feminine pieces. Moving beyond her signature prints, her show at New York Fashion Week was just a taste of her most ladylike line to date.

Circa '99, green was my favorite color, so I was elated to see the earthy tone back in action on the Fall '10 runways. During New York Fashion Week, a mass resurrection of green in every color variation — forest, olive, chartreuse, apple, and hunter green — spawned decadent beaded gowns, tailored blazers, and my fave, anoraks. A classic color reinvented?
